Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and a singer. She is also a co-star in Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain. She is known for co-starring in the film of Prince's Purple Rain and for having been the main singer for the girl group Apollonia 6. She was one of several female performers who gained of Prince's involvement throughout the 1980s. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica in California in 1959. Her professional career began with modeling in the latter part of 1970. Kotero also appeared on CHiPS. In 1984, she was cast as the title of female lead for Prince's Purple Rain (during which time the singer changed her name) and was replaced by Vanity in the female duo Vanity 6 performing with them on the screen under the name Apollonia 6. Sex Shooter was not a huge hit for the group, however she made a greater effect as the duet partner of Prince on Take Me with You on the soundtrack. Kotero as well as Prince have a disagreement regarding her career. Apollonia6 split, Kotero didn't remain in her relationship with Prince. In the years that followed, she remained an active actor, with a few film appearances and a few TV series. In 1997 Apollonia released a Spanish/English album called Stay With Me. After returning to university and receiving a bachelor's degree in filmmaking and founded her own company. Apollonia Kotero is a household name for wearing many hats. She is a former model, singer-actress and talent supervisor. In 1984, she was recognized for her part on the show Purple Rain. She has also appeared in a variety of other films and TV series, such as Black Magic Woman and The Divorce Ceremony. Kotero debuted her career as a model.
